Key Information

Our Curriculum;

At the Court School we are future proofing our curriculum in line with the Successful Futures document recently released by Welsh Government.  We have realigned our subjects into areas of learning and started to implement cross curricular responsibilities.

The curriculum is differentiated to ensure access for all pupils.  The school highlights the need to reflect the individual priority needs for the pupils as identified in their statement of educational needs through individual development plans and annual reviews.

The curriculum is delivered through a structured framework which incorporates long, medium and short term planning ensuring continuity and progression.

Literacy and Numeracy;

Literacy and Numeracy are taught discreetly during morning sessions and reinforced throughout the school day using a cross curricular approach. Teachers use assessment and the LNF to inform individual skills and set realistic targets.

Digital Competence;

"Digital Competence is the set of skills, knowledge and attitudes that enable the confident, creative and critical use of technologies and systems. It is essential for learners if they are to be informed, capable and have the potential to be successful in today"

At the Court School we want all of our learners to have access to the most current methods of teaching and technologies to support them in all aspects of their development. Every learner will have opportunities to develop skills using modern, cutting edge technology to enable them to access a modern, current and relevant curriculum that suits our pupils’ needs and aspirations.
