Activity 1 - Skimming and Scanning

 

Scanning for information or key words is a very complex skill. This is an introductory activity to doing this. This task can become confusing as there is lots of information and words to process. This is a good skill to develop, as it is usually required during National Tests, it also helps during research projects and comprehension tasks. 

 

 

 

Activity 2 - Similes 

 

A simile is comparing one thing to something else. It makes descriptive writing more interesting.
