'Keep Calm - Keep Learning...'

Get in Touch

Home learning ideas (and support) from Mr Beesley

From time to time I will be adding suggestions and ideas for keeping children busy whilst the school is closed. If you have any questions or require any support do text on 07495158404. If you have any pictures to send us to show us how your child is keeping busy do text them over and we will display them in our gallery (with your permission).

I have spoken to a number of parents/carers who have told me they are struggling to get their children to work at home. The priority has to be on addressing their wellbeing needs. So my suggestion is that they engage in activities that they really enjoy. For example:

Play in the garden.

Play with their toys.

Play board/card games.

Help make food/bake a cake.

Remain active (do try 'PE with Joe Wicks').

Watch some television.

Play on their devices (as long as this isn't for too long).

If they are happy and relaxed they are more likely to then complete some work with you. However, I do not expect pupils to be completing a huge amount from home. This is a difficult time for us all and we really don't want to 'stress them out' or make them anxious. If you would like to discuss this in more detail get in touch.

Educational Psychology Support - Please take a look at the poster below and contact me if you need to make an appointment to speak with the school's Educational Psychologist. I have been sent the following resource through from the Educational Psychology Service. It is advice for parents and carers during the Coronavirus pandemic. It is full of useful tips and advice, e.g. for managing anxiety. Do have a good look and let me know if you have any questions or need any support.
